Party of One

I've been wanting to collaborate with someone on a creative photo essay for ages but the elements never seemed to come together at the same time.   Then I mentioned to a woman who has one of the booth spaces at The Baker's Dozen (the subject of my next post) that I had some vintage dresses that never get worn that I would like to photograph.  She offered to take the photos, and suggested a location that sounded perfect.  We decided to do it this weekend, but unfortunately, in the rush to get her booth open yesterday, her camera was left at home.   Instead of rescheduling, we decided to try using the camera on my Huawei P20 Pro smart phone instead.  We were both really happy with the results and I am so excited to share them with you.  This is the kind of thing that makes my soul sing.

The Party's Over......

Or is It?

Maybe it's only just beginning?

  4. WOW! What an amazing and artistic shoot! Some of these are so good you should have them enlarged and framed. What a gorgeous dress too. The killer for me is those badass super hero boots.

You have a supermodel hiding out inside you.

Looks like you had fun doing this too. Loved this!

    1. I had a great time, and it was very empowering. The poor boots got pretty beaten up just by being worn for half an hour. The vinyl must have been incredibly thin and cheap.

    1. I would love to do more projects like this, but the problem is finding people to work with. It was sheer coincidence that we were able to use this location.

  7. I love how you go from "conventionally" feminine and delicate to the more edgier almost masculine look. You exude confidence and attitude - I LOVE it! You are beautiful in all of these ways!

    1. That's an interesting read on it, as I have to say I never really feel conventionally feminine ;). Thanks for the lovely compliments.

  8. OH YEAAAAH!! This is what you are meant to do, Shelley, well, and the other stuff too. But what an outstanding collaboration with Emilia. I'm thrilled that this came together. I can only hope there will be more. This is magazine-y. Again, wow!!!

  9. Oh Shelley, how utterly beautiful. Glossy magazine worthy. I can see you wearing the dress half wrapped around your waist, tucked to the back with those leggings and boots and the jeans jacket for a weekend look. Really good. And a few very sexy photos as well! You rock my lady.

    1. Thanks Greetje! It was fun to see a "dress-up" idea become reality, and have the photos look pretty much as I hoped they would.
