Yep, that's me, giving Winter a boot in the arse, and flashing a whole lot of red-clad upper thigh.
and speaking of boots.....
and speaking of boots.....
Don't I look rather smug in my new grey boots that I picked up in Toronto when I was there a couple of weeks ago? My outfit was so damn co-ordinated because I was asked to give a guest lecture about blogging in one of our undergrad classes so I thought I should at least look like I knew what I was talking about. I guess it went ok - no one feel asleep and some people even asked questions at the end. I realized just how short this dress is when I sat on the desk at the front of the classroom and had to shift my legs to the side to avoid corrupting the students. To my credit, I did have a floofy slip underneath.

And yet another pair of beeeyoootiful boots.....
I wasn't the only one who came home from Toronto with fab new boots. Behold the ribbon-laced beauties that Heather found at the Dr. Marten's Toronto store! She found the turquoise bag at Stella Luna, a cool vintage store in the Parkdale area of Toronto, that has very reasonable prices.
The boots have the added "Squee" factor of being lined with flowered fabric that can be displayed by turning down the leg into a big cuff. The ribbons and flowers add just the right amount of feminine flair to an other wise tough-looking boot.

Ah, I love both pairs of boots! I just had a cheap-o Winners pair fall apart on me and I'm looking to replace them. You guys are so inspiring!
ReplyDeleteLove your fabulous red/plaid look! Hee, good thing for floofy underskirts, eh?
Nothing like some great boots for serious ass kicking!
ReplyDeleteNice boots!! Love them both! Nothing better than a sweet pair of shit-kickers!
ReplyDeleteLove your patchwork dress! And the Doc Marten's are just so cool! Seems like everyone's talking about Docs lately.

Now that's a motto to live by! You look great in those shorter length, Shelley, nothing wrong with flashing some thigh at your students, or at anyone else for that matter! Love the patchwork dress and the great tights, and of course the fabulous arse-kicking boots. Ooh, lecturing about blogging, I would have liked to hear what you had to say, I bet your students think you are really cool!
ReplyDeleteHeather's DMs are lovely too, I like the contrast of the traditional Doc shape with the pretty floral lining and ribbon.
I will wear some boots today to join you in kicking winter's arse! xxxxx
You give that winter a good boot on the way out, Shelley - I second the notion! I have some major boot love for yours and Heather's boots especially. The purple and inside pattern gave me a thrill too. And the blue bag is also fab. Congrats on your blogger appearance. I haven't done one of those since I left TO but they were always kinda fun. :)
ReplyDeleteSo cosy and bright - cheerful yet fierce! Take THAT, winter!
ReplyDeleteThose Doc's are wonderful. And the boots you're wearing are too. The whole outfit rocks.
ReplyDeleteYou must have a ton and a half boot arsenal. I love every one too.
ReplyDeleteYour outfit kicks ass, I bet the students were drooling over your fabulousness and definitely not sleeping! xxx
ReplyDeleteThat dress is amazing and with the boots I gotta say for not a lick of pink I would totally rock that outfit! How cool that you got to lecture about blogging, I bet you were pretty entertaining!
ReplyDeleteXXOO
Brilliant, Shelley!
ReplyDeleteI love both pairs - most excellent finds! I still have my Docs from when I was in University. I should polish them up and resurrect them.
ReplyDeleteOH MY GOD I'm in love with those boots, they're just awesome. Give Winter a kick up the arse please. You look damn cool! xxx
ReplyDeleteVERY nice. I do like some good shit kickers. (My husband's nickname for me is Boots)
