If someone had said to me when I was a teenager, that someday I'd be wearing a pair of knickers (and not what the word means in Britain), I would have declared it would never happen. Yet, here I am - and in brown ones, no less. My teenage self would be making gagging noises right now. However, my adult self is oddly enamoured with this outfit. The knickers, found at
Lovesick, have pockets adorned with brass-coloured studs, and make me feel a bit like a naughty schoolboy. The purple and pink floral pattern of the cardigan and the zipper necklace added the necessary feminine counterpoint.
Knickers - Lovesick
Cardigan - My Closet (that's the name of the store)
Zipper necklace - Frilly Lizard
Neosens Boots - From Mars
I'm in love with the colors of this ensemble (you're wearing THOSE boots again, sigh!!!) and I'm impressed with the way you can pull off what I usually consider a tricky silhouette. Well done!
ReplyDeleteThis is a really good look on you! And I love purple and brown together. It's like chocolate and raspberries, yum!
ReplyDeleteLOVE this - the knickerbockers (can't call 'em knickers here!) are fabulous and you are wearing the crap out of them! Love the boots and cardi too - just perfect. Sarah xxx
ReplyDeleteI love this outfit. Has London made a style shrine to you yet?
ReplyDeleteLove the knickers! I wore them in grade 6 and have always lamented their demise. Bring them back I say!
ReplyDeleteAnd those booties are the bomb!
Those knickers are darling - and living in the UK now I can appreciate the different meanings (when my hubby says "jumper", I have to stop myself from seeing him in a dress/all-in-one pantsuit as he means a sweater!).
ReplyDeleteI am a huge purple fan - love the funky/feminine booties and cardi. I'd love to see the necklace close up! :)
My mom made me wear knickers in my youth, i felt very awkward - But i think they are cute, i bought a pair lately, yes strange, i keep telling myself i will like them...anyway - i tried them on this weekend, not sure i have to find the right top -
ReplyDeleteYou on the other hand look pretty good in them!
Arianexxx
You have the ability to put many unique looks together and make them shine. Pure genius! Brown, pink and purple never looked so good together and 'oh those boots.'
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colors together. Can't say I've ever worn knickers...yet.
ReplyDeleteI was shocked, I thought we were gonna see your pants!!! They are known as knickerbockers here but despite the language barrier they look pretty damned hot on you! Love them! You may have inspired me to make a pair for bike riding, they'd be fab, wouldn't they? xxx
ReplyDeleteKnickers! That made me laugh - divided by a common language, it's so true! As Vix says, they are knickerbockers to us Brits, and I have NEVER worn a pair. But I would if I looked as good in them as you! Pink and brown, what a lovely colour combination. And those boots always make me drool a little... xxxxx
ReplyDeletewell.. hän tykkää itsekin niistä :)
ReplyDelete"Naughty Schoolboy" is about to eclipse "Sexy Librarian" as THE NEW LOOK. And you're just the woman to do it! Fab.
ReplyDeletexoxo,
Jean
I love your knickers! (Not the British kind) How I can love (I call them) breeches but not capris is beyond me. But I do. Great find you've got there!
ReplyDeleteAmazing post!!!!
