That 70's Show

I don't wear jeans very often, as I find them boring, but I have a couple of dark denim pairs that I wear to work.  The best way to offset some boring denim? How about this 1970's "pussy bow" blouse that I found on the sale rack at The Sentimentalist yesterday?  I chose to forgo the bow and instead do the traditional men's tie knot instead.  Yes, it's polyester, but it has RED, WHITE AND BLUE POLKA DOTS!!   It's easier to feel kinder towards wearing synthetic fabrics when it is a choice, and not because everything in your closet is made of polyester.

Have a good weekend everyone!

  3. But in the '70s we didn't really realize how awful it was, at least I didn't. It's like being in the eye of a hurrican - you don't realize the fury around you. I do love the resurrection of this beauty though. Great tie option.

  4. OH YESSSSSSSSS!!!! I loved the clothes as a kid in the 70s and the feeling has never left me. The only problem with living in Queensland is it's impossible to wear vintage man-made fabrics unless one enjoys being a stinky people-repeller. The humidity is killer here so I'm forever on the search for cottons. Isn't it amazing how the poly fabrics keep their colours though? Absolutely stunning!! I love this blouse so much and it looks fantastic with the flared jeans xoxoxoxo

  11. Do you know, that is a great way to de-girlify a pussy bow blouse, why didn't I think of that? I love them but can feel a bit prim and prissy in them, whereas this look is anything but. Clever Shelley! The print is delicious, and the whole look is definitely NOT boring.
Hope you are having a good weekend, love. xxxx
