I'll Be Your Mirror

Lady on the outside....

I just love the detail on this vintage coat I found at The Sentimentalist.  It is similar to the coat I'm wearing here in that it's black and it has fur trim, but the shape and details are different (this is me, trying to justify having two vintage black wool, fur-trimmed coats in my closet)

Remove the coat, and "Voila" -  Rock and Roll girl on the inside! I am so hopeless at "Badass Chick" expressions

I'm much better at my superhero pose

Velvet Underground T - Backstage Pass Going Out of Business sale
80's jacket - Mine 101
pink leather cuff - From Mars

Hope you all have a great weekend.  I'm going to a Burlesque show tomorrow night if this cold I think I'm getting doesn't knock me out!

  2. One of my favourite songs! Such a beautiful coat (TOTALLY different from your other one), you are definitely a superhero and a badass chick all together with that ladylike exterior, my friend. Fingers crossed that you will avert the cold!

  4. Is there such thing as "approachable bad ass rocker chick?" Cause you have that one down! Cool t-shirt! I'm a Nico fan. ;)

  5. The detail on the coat is so cool! And then the unveiling...

Is that a banana on your shirt, or are you just happy to see me? :)

  6. I don't think you need an excuse to have several vintage coats! As many as you can afford and also fit in your closet would be the only limits I could imagine. Such lovely detail on the button swags!

  8. Well, my attitude is, a gal (especially when living through a Canadian winter) can't have too many vintage coats! This ones gorg, Shelly, I love the shape, collar and lovely detailing at the back. Hope you get out to the show and have a fab weekend!

  14. Obviously you don't need to justify ANY vintage coat buying to me, Shelley, I completely understand the love affair with fabulous well made outerwear!
And I love the contrast between ladylike 50s elegance and the rock chick revealed underneath! That little jacket is wonderful and t-shirt (and song) are great.
Hope the developing cold doesn't get in the way of your burlesque fun this weekend! xxxxx

    1. Actually the jacket is just good ol 80's polyester, not leather, but it does look like it in the photo

  21. Of course you need two black coats with fur trim! How could you live without that gorgeous detail? Great outfit on the inside too. Especially with your playful expressions and the jacket to 'live' for.
