Shopping at Home County Folk Festival

Home County has always been known to get a variety of high-quality craft vendors, and I like to wander the booths looking for possible additions to my wardrobe.  Andrea Pope, of Lumiere Designs, is a regular vendor at Home County with her "sculpture wear".   Her dramatic neck pieces and ear ornaments are for women who don't mind being the center of attention:
Andrea Pope, wearing, and surrounded by, her unique designs.  I love the ear/face piece she is wearing, and have tried on a couple of them, but they don't work as well if you wear glasses.  To see more of her designs, check out her website.

I have a rather sizeable collection of coats and jackets (how anyone can get through a Canadian winter with only one winter coat is beyond my comprehension) and am especially drawn to ones in unusual colours with details like oversized pockets or collars and eye-catching buttons.  Needless to say, when I came across these coats at the booth Designs by S.A.D., I was a little bit in love.  They are made from sweaters and coats that have been taken apart and felted, then pieced together into a one of a kind jacket.  The buttons are also recycled, many of them from the 1940's.

One of my favourites

  1. Andrea's designs are so beautiful and unusual! And I love the clever recycled felted jackets. Wish I lived closer to London!
