These Boots are made for Walkin'

No matter what the calendar says, it's Fall, at least in my mind. I love boots, sweaters, and jackets. so this is my favourite time of year to shop. One of my go-to places for unique clothing and footwear is From Mars on Talbot Street., Some years, I look at the colours and styles and go "Meh", but not this year. There are fabulous sweaters, dresses, and super stylish, but practical boots. My faves are the red ones in the centre by Fly. I was also lusting after the black ankle boot pictured above, by Spanish company Neosens, but alas, my ever-annoying bunions nixed that purchase. Fortunately, I overcame that disappointment when I found a pair of black suede, over-the-knee boots at Winners today.

Caught Shopping

I caught Pauline, one of my favourite style icons, shopping on Richmond Row, looking for more unique pieces to add to her already fabulous wardrobe.

Ah, Youth

It's just a t-shirt and cut-offs, but it works because she is is young, beautiful, and fresh-looking. She's not wearing too much makeup, she's not trying too hard. I love the sandals and the hat; they add a flair to the casual simplicity of her look.

On the Street - Sexy, Stylish Sandals

Flip Flops are fine for the beach, but why wear them anywhere else when there are so many cool sandals in different styles, colours, heel heights, and price ranges to choose from? Now that the sales are on, grab a pair for next year.

Flower Power

From the front, this was a very simple scoop-necked, A-line dress-- ok, but nothing special. Then she turned around and POW! Love the 60's vibe the giant flower creates, and the colours are so much fun.

Pop of Colour on Richmond

I had seen this bright splash of green when I was on the bus, so after I got off at my stop, I walked back a block so I could take her photo. I love the big standup collar and button detail, and I realized that I owned the same belt!

We seem to finally be having summer here, and I was relieved to see that some men have figured out that you can wear something other than a t-shirt and very baggy shorts. Jeff, owner of local restaurant, Tru, was headed to the market in this combination of stripes and windowpane checks, and it all fits very well--very crisp and fresh-looking. I love that more men are wearing hats-- check out the detail on his below

This is my latest acquisition from what is becoming my favourite place to buy jewellery--a great store in Port Stanley called "Frankly Scarlett" (It also earns points for the cool name). There are two floors of funky, inexpensive necklaces, bracelets and rings (most bracelets are $15 or under, and the necklaces are around $20). I love big statement pieces like this.
